LOL @ 3yrs old... which is approx 21 in human yrs. So how much medical attention did you pay to yourself at 21 (baring any diseases, pre-existing medical conditions) than at 18-19?? 3yrs is still considered a young dog. Most dogs dont mature mentally till around 1.5-2yrs. Even a golden retriever's double fur coat hasnt attained full maturity till about 2-2.5yrs.
If the glove don't fit you must acquit! #WINNING

Of course he may never mature. Our guy is about to turn 13 and is still a "puppy". Nature of the breed. I have had other people with the same breed whose dogs were about 5 years old ask me when (if) their dogs would ever mature. Some do - but many don't.

It is a good thing that many of the puppy behaviours are cute. Of course he is not as he was, but he is still pretty puppy-like. It does not help that he also looks much younger than his years.

My Bernese Mountain dog will be 6 years old end of January, and he's still very much a puppy. :)

The more I see these dogs the more I love them! Such gental giants. Even my old (at least according to this thread; she is almost 6 haha) and anti-social dog will of her own volition walk up to Berners to say hi -- so weird to see since they are like 10x her size.

Some dogs mellow at 1 year, some at 2-4... some never.

We have an American Eskimo. Other people we know who have a dog who falls into the Spitz family have found that their dogs generally do not mature as well! Our dog is also a drama queen - I can just see him today at his annual physical - if you hear screams it will be him - before he is even touched!

Jack will be 8 in March. He was an old soul when I got him at 1 years old. He has grown up and evolved into a puppy and has started behaving like he should have 7 years ago. Gracie will be a perpetual puppy. At 4, she's calmed down a lot, but is still has the zoomie crazy antics she did at 4 months.

Yes, but did your pup eat the snow? Our dog is a major snow eater - he has a huge drink before he goes out, then eats the snow which makes him thirsty (and cough) and then has a huge drink when he comes in - rinse and repeat.

If he was a big dog or I was a lot shorter I would buy one of those 9 inch leads to attach to his harness and hold his head up. Alas he weighs 25 lbs. and I am 5' 8". Then again he is a very strong dog...
