Halifax Donair in Milton has the best donair I've had outside Halifax, bar none. Don't get me wrong, I love shawarmas too, but sometimes you just get a craving for a donair!

Omg. I wish we had one of these here in Vancouver. We don't have any real Halifax style donairs. All the places that advertise this don't have the same meat or sauce. Closest I've had on the West coast is at the "Donair Shop" in Victoria and donair poutine at La Belle Patate in Vancouver. I make my own using this recipe but still nothing comes close to ones back home in Nova Scotia.

Yep, its by far the best you'll find here. The owner's father used to have his Donair place out east called Fairview Pizza. That name would have just sounded like an ordinary pizza place, so he called it Halifax Donair.
Its one of the few places that is worth driving for. Also, they'd rather you have more meat, than bread. Its delicious.

Thats funny, looking at my response to this thread 6 years ago I was down on the donairs
Now that I've had a couple from Halifax Donair in Milton (admittedly my only donair experience) I can say I was way wrong, they are damn delicious (although greasy as hell). What's with no lettuce as a topping though? I don't like the raw tomatoes and onions on my sandwich so I just ask for it plain_______________

I love Halifax Donair. Good to know there's a Burlington location. Milton is psychologically far because you have to drive through farmland to get there from Oakville.

When in Halifax, I always make a trip to King of Donair at the Pizza Corners on Grafton and Blowers.
