Draztik Concepts Season Opener Cruise and more...
When: April 1st/06
Where: all info located at link below...
What:
Our first event as a club is going to basically be a full day of events, an entire day almost for you to get sick of those fellow DC members. Starting the day will be a season opener cruise around the Forks of The Credit Provincial Park winding around the roads of the park as if an initial d driver. Maps of the route will be handed out at location during a pre-cruise meeting. A barbecue is going to proceed where we can meet, eat, talk, chill, and basically have a good time. Make sure those cars are spick and span as cameras, during and after the cruise will be filming and snapping. A staged shoot will also take part somewhere thought the day. Pretty much just going to be a good day - a great kick-off to the DC season. Raffles and Prizes will also be available during the day so definitely something you don’t want to miss.
Tell your friends, family, young ones, whomever, all are welcome to this event.
Forks of the Credit Background Information:
Forks Of The Credit Road is an amazing cruise road for vehicles and motorcycles. From Hwy 10 it rollicks up and down, crests an S-curve and carves its way through the Devil's Pulpit escarpment to meet up with the Credit River. Crossing a bridge, the road snaps around a tight switchback as it climbs, and then twists along until it reaches the village of Belfountain. Belfountain was originally named McCurdy's Village after "Grize" McCurdy who owned silver mines in the area. Fresh baked goods, deli meats and cheeses make the Belfountain Village Store a popular weekend hangout for motorcyclists. Prior to 1888 the store was originally the site of the Glover Tavern, much to the chagrin of old man McCurdy who was opposed to drinking establishments. The tight hilly corners of the side road leading north to the town of Cataract are highly entertaining, with a few rough and sandy spots. The two buildings on the right as you turn onto Cataract Rd provide natural spring water for Canada Dry brand soda pop. Dating from 1855, the Cataract Inn is one of the few remaining buildings of the era. Experimental electric power lit the streets of Cataract in 1899, thanks to John Deagle who converted his grist mill into a power plant. These amazing roads and historic sites come with a price. Weekend visitors clog the area in the summer afternoons. Autumn colours bring even more hordes of tourists. The best time to come is in the morning or during the week. The other thing to watch out for is radar. Residents of the posh mansions in the area get tired of bikes screaming past all day long and the Ontario Provincial Police are often hiding in the bushes to keep a lid on the festivities.

That's one of my favourite driving spots however there are too many cops in my experience. Driving in big groups definitely draws unwanted uniformed attention.

Let's hope the cops aren't reading the message boards! A couple years ago after repeatedly having cruises cancelled (because of cops showing up to the meeting spots), my club stopped posting details of cruises publicly (became email only to known members and friends). And presto - no more unwanted guests.
Then again, if your car is perfectly legal and you obey all traffic laws, you have nothing to worry about. Have a good time!_______________

no biggy. its not a race nor do we plan on breaking the law. its a busy route and you shouldn't be speeding anyhow, people riding their bikes walking etc.
they want to show up fine? what they gonna do as all we are doing in enjoying the ride
