Dreamhost deal - $9.24 for a year
This is a insane deal for webhosting:
http://dreamhost.com/limited-time-sa...ng-on-now.html
"Sign up today for a risk-free trial of a one-year hosting plan using the promotional code "777" and you'll get an entire year of web hosting (including a domain registration) for just $9.24! That's 92% off our normal pricing!"

It also says it is for new customers only.

I've hosted with them after the first year and I am satisfied with their service. Possibly because I didn't want to move my blog and deal with re-config problems.
I dont mind the unlimited space and transfer as well. Support has been awesome as well, I've had their tech go into my blog config files and figure out 'My' mistake.
$10.95/month and yes you can transfer to another host as well.
On that note, any other viable options for hosting besides dreamhost?

My brother has pushed me into checking out http://www.resellerpanel.com/ for a long time. (He hosts with them on his commercial site).

I still remember when i signed up for a similar deal last year but until today I still haven't used it LOL.
Maybe that's how they can afford doing this promo once in a while?

The catch is that this is a one-year price, and it jumps to $120 next year.
Also, if you actually tried to use any significant fraction of the capacity offered, they would limit you or cut you off. For example, technically your web space and bandwidth on Dreamhost is to be used for serving html pages only - other uses such as file storage or media streaming not supported.

This is dead isn't it?
I realize that the coupon says only valid until the 13th but when I put it in during registration it seemed to still be working, saying I would be saving $110 and something.
Now when I go to billing it says I'll be paying the regular 9.95 per month?
EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it when through like it was supposed to and I'm set up for 9.24 for the year. Thanks OP for the sick deal!

cool deal, I just ended my $10 for a year with netfirms and they tried to charge my CC for another year for over $100 will this site try to do the same thing or after the year they just cut you off?
I even e-mailed netfirms telling them I didn't want to keep my sites and if I Needed to do anything to cancel and they never got back to me.

Now really, everyone knows $9/yr isnt their NORMAL price and you wouldnt expect it to continue at that price.
Dreamhost is one of those most notorious for this. But that being said, you contact them and tell them you dont want to renew after the first year.. get something in some sort of email so you have backup proof and enjoy it.
Sounds like u just forgot about the AutoRenew after contacting em the first time.

Dreamhost saves your credit card information and sets AutoRenew on when you register, so you will be billed $120 automatically next year unless you go to their control panel and turn off AutoRenew. This is a bit of a shady practice on their part, and I'm sure they do it deliberately knowing that many people don't intend to renew. But you're fine if you turn off AutoRenew - they will email you an invoice and you can pay it manually.
Dreamhost isn't that bad compared to some others. They do oversell their capacity with fake offers of huge storage and bandwidth that they have no intention of delivering, like all the cheap web hosting services, and their control panel sucks. But their support is better than some.

Anyone know where you put in the code 777? Is it before or after the credit card info? Is this deal still alive?
