Driving in Canada with foreign license?
Hi, I left Canada and returned to Hong Kong for permanent residence. I also received a local Hong Kong driver license here.
I'm planning to spend 2 weeks in Canada for vacationing. Is my Hong Kong driver license valid for vehicle operation? Or do I need other documents/permits to drive in Canada?
Also, I will like to know what is the minimum age requirement to rent a car in Canada. (I will be 23 by that time)
Thanks

Just in case, even though it is only for two weeks, get yourself an International Driver's Licence while you are still in HK.

Visiting or Moving to Ontario?
If you are a visitor to Ontario and want to drive while you are here, you must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver's licence from your own province, state or country. If you are from another country and visiting Ontario for more than three months, you need an International Driver's Permit from your own country or you may have to apply for an Ontario driver's licence, depending on your length of stay. You should also ensure your automobile insurance coverage is sufficient, and that you carry the original or a true copy of the vehicle registration or Certificate of Title for your vehicle.
Look up the Ministry of Transportation website in the provinces you intend to drive. They're probably all similar, though.

If you reside in another country and have a valid driver's license from that country, you can use that license in Ontario for no more than three months.
the rules should be quite similar throughout the other provinces but like it was said above, you should check with the province's ministry of transportation
