If you forgot it, you have 24 hours to bring it to the police station, no?

1)If you have forgot it you have 24 hours to bring to your local police hq.
2)Driving with a suspened license is oen of the worst thing you can do.
3)Driving underage is worse then driving with a suspended license.
The 3rd one would get your parents in alot of hot water.

Actually, in ON at least, if you forgot it you can still get a ticket for it. The 24-hour to present business is just officer discretion I believe.
Same thing with insurance cards. The officer can easily look up whether you have insurance on that registration or not but there's two different tickets.... One is failure to provide proof of insurance, the other is driving without insurance. The first one is something like $60 or something, the second one is $5,000, LOL. And again here the officer can give you x hours to present or they can just give you the ticket and give you not time at all to present. However they still know that you have insurance and just can't present your card, which is different than not having insurance at all (which is a different charge with a much higher fine).
Same thing with a license (well maybe not the same fines but same idea). If you just forgot your license (but you actually have one) there are ways for them to tell whether you have a license or not by you providing them with other info, ID, etc. So there you can still get a ticket but you can't get in any real trouble.
Driving without actually having a license is a different story. For that reason, #1 and #3 on your list are different situations than #2.

How would that get your parents in trouble? The only trouble they would see is if it were there car and it got impounded.
Which, now that I mention it, is one of the things they can do to you if you don't have a licence. In Ontario, driving without a license or with a suspended license usually results in the car being towed and impounded for 30 days regardless of who owns the car. This puts the onus on the car owner to be certain anyone driving their car has a valid driver's license.
The owner of the car will be stuck with the fees for towing (usually something ridiculous like $200-$400) and they will have to pay the impound fee for the 30 days (which is usually something equally ridiculous).

in Alberta:
1. $230 ticket and vehicle towed, unless you can get a valid driver to come get car.
2. $172 ticket for fail to produce lic, or fail to have d/l in posession.
3. Mandatory court summons, notice of intent to seek greater punishment and vehicle siezed for 30/60 days.

1) Never tell anybody everything you know.

In Ontario it's as follows
1) Drive without a licence, whether your 13 or 31 doesn't matter charge is the same. Fine is $260. No tow authority though if you can't get a licenced driver to drive it off the highway asap it may be towed off of the highway by the police.
2) Fail to surrender licence, $85.00 fine, officer can confirm you have a licence and will usually let you drive away. No obligation on the officer to give you 24 hours to produce.
3) Drive under suspension, $1000 minimum for first offence, also an arrestable offence. Technically if your a habitual offendor then your vehicle can be seized until the matter is dealt with in court. Never seen this happen though.

Just wondering out of curiosity ...
