Dropped iphone 5, next step?

I bought AppleCare plus over the phone last year. Dropped my iPad off the roof of my car 2 weeks after I bought it. It's a long story....

I didn't tell them anything happened and they didn't ask. Call to buy it.

1) Try this. Buy 99$ AppleCare+ over the phone and say you're from out of town - no apple stores within an hour drive or something....
Bring it in and pay the $50 Deductible.

2) If not, see if the rep will let you buy AppleCare+ and use one of the accidental damages on the spot - most likely thing that will happen.

3) Ignore all the other people saying you'll get some sympathy, complain or getting a girl to go. It not gonna fly and piss off the rep and they wont offer you #2.

Seriously though, sounds like a the BB suggestion is the best. $200+ for a new phone again is worth it if you really want to keep the iP5

Apple will likely fix the screen, casing, etc IT ISN'T BRAND NEW, DAMNIT! Use the warranty from BB.

A friend of mine is a Application Development Consultant at RIM (basically dev evangelist). They are doing everything they can to get developers to bring their apps to BB10. I mean everything. At this point app count is the driving factor. They recently send out a message asking people, non-developers, to do apps if they have blogs, youtube channels, etc. They'll pay you $100 just to use their dev tools to wrap your blog/youtube/etc URL into a BB10 app (apparently takes about 10 minutes to whip together a wrapper type app). Funny stuff.

Expect lots of garbage.

"My youtube"
"John on youtube"
"John's youtube channel"
"Just John"

John might have just made $500 for submitting those apps.

Atheists don't tend to go door knocking or trying to save people. Here we are in a specifically apple related thread and the door knockers can't help themselves, they are here trying to save us and trying to sell their religion.

OP, when you pay Apple $229 to "fix" your phone, they are just going to replace it on the spot. It will come from an unmarked white or brown box, and they won't tell you if it is refurbished or new, but either way I guarantee you it will look better than yours does right now.

Make the appointment with the Genius bar. As others have said, you may get lucky and have them replace it for free. They are under no obligation to do so, but it has happened.

Update:
Got a refurb one as replacement from the Apple store. Will bring it to best buy to claim it has 'problems' and get it replaced to a brand new one.

Total damage: $229 for a brand new iphone5. Damn it :/

p.s I wouldn't jump on the bb10 right when it launches, will probably wait few weeks for feedbacks first.
