DSLR deals?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any killer deals on DSLR cameras right now?

I'd like to buy one for my fiance for Christmas since she loves to take pictures. I'm leaning towards the Nikon brand because I've been told that they can use any of their own lenses from way back because the mounts have never changed. Is this true?

I'd like to get a D40 with an 18-55 lens as a basic kit. What I'd like to do is find the best price out there and price match with FS because I can put it on my FS card and get 90 days no interest (which I pay off before it hits 90 days).

Is the D40 discontinued or should I wait a little closer to Christmas and hope for a better deal?

FS has the D60 for $450 right now until Sep 25
