Too bad it's a hard check, otherwise I would've signed up. Need to keep my hit rate low due to mortgage sign up soon.

Aren't bank/credit signups only account for 10% of you credit score?

BTW: If you sign up in branch you can get everything done, that same day.

so what is the regular rate after the promotion? im not sure if it is worth the credit check and time just to take 0.4% more than EQ
even if you put $100000 in, 0.4% in 3 months is about $100 pre-tax.

10% is a lot. e.g. it can bring you down a tier.
Been told that if score is higher than a certain amount you are fine, and it does not make a big difference. Forgot what that score was though.

Ontario credit union bank. I don't see any balance protection insurance - not sure if its covered under the Ontario Government ?

Also, from their site:

"Once you have opened your new DUCA account, please do not forget to take part in our Join–in program to collect $50 for you and $50 for a charity of your choice."
