If your depositing a relatively small amount it doesn't really matter.

So you only have to deposit $1?

Is there a credit check? Hard or soft?

but doesn't look like there's EXTRA welcome $ for using a referral link? since everyone gets $50 vs. Tangerine's $50 via referral only ($25 without referral)
So, what is DUgood anyway?
It’s our way of giving back to the communities, and helping those who really need it. DUgood is comprised of three different programs—ChangeIt®, Join-In and finally, supporting the communities we call home.

Becoming a part of DUgood starts with Join-In. It’s easy and when you do, we’ll give you $50, plus we'll donate another $50 to the many Member-selected DUgood charities of your choice.1 Plus, we’ve got a terrific referral program that pays you $20 for every referred friend that becomes a DUCA Member!

*All funds directed to charities will be reconciled on December 31, 2015, and paid out in January, 2016. Members who donate WILL NOT receive a charitable tax receipt.

Some fees which may be associated:

Membership fee: $5.00
Balance transferred to other institutions: $25.00
Close account within 90 days: $25.00

Yeah they are kind of opaque with the fees. But the balance xfer fee is only if you close and xfer. You can EFT out all your funds no charge. Also there's a fee every January of $5 or so I think.

I got the 50, but where's the 50 to the charity of my choice?

Can you make an account if you are not in ON? I am in QC.

Their "aim for more" banking bundle is not bad... is the membership fee really 5$ per year?

When we created zenbanx account, zenbanx already enrolled / purchased $1 DUCA Membership Share (do they get $50 buck lol?).
You purchased your CAD $1.00 DUCA Membership Share

Not sure. But I did naively and was rejected. I am in BC. Better stay away.
