Well, it's his money. But if I were him, I would buy something that retain value for longer time like gold that I can cash them later.

yes, maybe a place at metrotown would sell gold.
but $6300 on such a small tv?
i mean ... even if i was lazy and wanted to spend money. but, $6300 should easily be able to buy a 55 inch high class brand of plasma ..or about $4500 for a 46 inch sony BRAVIA lcd.

he coulda also gotten an extended warranty...and quoted the after-tax price...taxes alone would be at least $500.

The Sony Store is famous for MSRP pricing and he probably got loaded down with EP, matching stand, mounting, etc.

He's also getting free in home delivery and set-up. I was in the store when he bought it.

When i won my $5000 spree from Futureshop, I had time to research and shop around in there._______________

The Sony store is actually a good place to haggle at. I've never paid MSRP for anything I bought there.
It'd be pretty simple to spend $6300 on that TV
46" XBR3 ($4800) + extended warranty + stand + taxes + HDMI Monster Cables would easily top $6300
