DVD Burner Recommendations

I'm new in the market for a DVD burner under $75. Any recommendations, especially from owners? Also, from which burners should I definitely stay away?

At the top of my list right now is BenQ 1640 but I can't seem to find it very easily in Toronto - I just went to about 15 stores on College/Chinatown and no one had it. I'd rather not do mail order because I'll be moving soon. Alternatives?
