DVD Burner Recommendations?
My DVD burner has crapped out after some light use, it won't read any disk I put in it. I have resigned myself to getting a replacement. Any suggestions?

I have the following DVD Writers:
LG GSA-H22L :http://www.infonec.com/site/main.php...tail&id=192455
Benq 1655
Both seem to do a good job but I would get the Benq as it has better media support.
I had a Pioneer model and I suspect it was defective since all my burns were coasters. I replaced it with the LG and have no issues.

Strange that canadacomputers doesn't list any Benq burners anymore. I've burned hundreds of DVDs on my 1655.

I've had a Benq DW1620 for about 2 years now and burnt at least 700-1000 DVD's with it and it's still going strong.
I've also heard good things about the NEC nd-3500a or the LG gsa-4160b
Here's a good review:

Isn't the 3500A a few years old now? There have been many more since. Saying that, my next burner will probably be an NEC too. I still have my NEC-2500A (flashed to a 2510A) and its been burning like a champ for over 3-years. Not that its quit but I would like a burner faster than 8x. NEC burn quality is top notch (even though people favour BenQ highly on this board, I have been underwhelmed by the 1610. They improved with the later models).

After checking some places it seem that the 3500A is outdated haha. I'd still look into BenQ's for quality and durability.
