dvd burner speed
i just got a new sony dual layer dvd burner, 16x.. all it will burn is .9x which is becoming very annoying.
i have tried two different disks, and updated the driver. can anyone offer me a solution?

Have you tried checking out the settings (ie. FAQ on Sony's site) for information? Are you strictly burning DL or single layer discs?

This is most commonly the cause of the problem.
Check the properties of your IDE contoller in your system Device Manager.
If that drive is running on PIO then that needs to be changed.

it was the DMA mode, working great now
i guess this is why my old dvd burner was so slow too, geesh... i lived with it burning at 2.4x for 3yrs
