Dying dress shirts? Experimenting
I have a black dress shirt with white stripes. I feel the stripes are too "loud" so I want to dye the stripes to grey or black so they don't stand out as much
Is this possible? Any ideas what I can try? I'm willing to take risk, experiment and ruin the shirt

Risky. I guess you can try finding a really leaky shirt or really dark indigo jeans that bleed alot an dshove it in the wash with the shirt or just soak them together. But I have a feeling it could end up uneven.

How much was the shirt? I'd just not wear it if I didn't like it. I don't think you'll be successful trying to dye the pinstripes..

It was an expensive dress shirt I got as a gift.
Better to try to dye it and ruin it than to let it sit in the back of my closet for another 5 years...haha

You can buy dye for clothing at Walmart or somewhere similar if I'm not mistaken. Years ago I had to dye a white tshirt pink for a costume and it worked well - its a powder that you mix in water, soak the shirt and then wash it in the machine after. It may ruin the shirt, but you can give it a shot.
