E-Shipper Price Increases?

Just went to do some UPS shipping on there and noticed that the average prices I was paying last year are up significantly. I few years back I was paying $25.00-$30.00 on average to overnight packages, last year about $28-$35.00 now everything is about $44.00+ (these prices for the UPS Express Packs 1-3lbs). One box 14x10x6 at 4lbs was $100.00... used to be around $60.00.

I'm curious if this is an overall change or is there varying prices for different customers?

I contacted them recently to get quotes to see if they were cheaper than Canada Post. I gave them 10 sample parcels with various addresses. 7/10 were actually MORE expensive with eShipper than with Canada Post, there was one tie, and eShipper was slightly cheaper for 2 of them. I didn't take into account the extra charges people are complaining they add on after the fact, because those charges would be unpredictable.

It's gone up a great deal. Here's an example of a 1 lb parcel sent from T5J 2R7 to V5Y 1V4.

December 2013 -
UPS Standard via eShipper - $7.81
Expedited Parcel - $10.11

January 2015 -
UPS Standard via eShipper - $13.32
Expedited Parcel - $11.24
