At EbGames you pay taxes on the differenc onlyLeafsFan30 wrote: ↑ Thanks! Let's say I trade in a ps4 and ps3 controller for $80, and use that to trade for a new ps4 controller, will it be $75 no tax or $75+tax?
So exemple you have 50$ trade in and buy a 79.99gzme it will do
79.99-50 = 29.99 you'll pay that on the 29.99

My son only got $4.50 for his siaxis and $30 each for two dualshock. He kept his camo dual shock. No problems, they were in good shape. He picked up a trainer box of Pokemon cards for 64.95.

I was quoted 40$ for my slim 320gb yesterday. I just traded my ds3 instead for 30$. Now to sell the console alone for 80$.immortal_kssss wrote: ↑ Anyone knows how much is the trade in value of PS3?

And I stand by it. Your article indicated around 10% of launch controllers had a defect, so that means there's a 90% chance that poster didn't take care of his controllers.cashinstinct wrote: ↑ I agree that EB does not have to take them.
However, the other poster accused the user of not taking care of his/her controller

You should have pre-ordered some Switch games and then moved the credit to a Switch when it was back in stock. Leaving the credit on your Edge card loses the tax free benefits (which was discussed many times in this thread)._pOtEnZa_ wrote: ↑ just want to thank OP for this

Traded in one PS3 controller, and will take a stab selling my system, one controller, and about 30+ games on kijiji. Selling at least one of my controller was a no brainer. I never game with two people on an old console anymore. Thanks OP

yeah he said he left it on my account and not on the edge card, assuring me that i would not loose the tax credit, i still have the invoice and i will take it in when i go buy the switch, hopefully i wont have to argue with them...
edit : just checked the invoice, says closed store presell sku , then a bunch of numbers and the total of my trade in..

I believe most stores close at 6 on Sunday so people outside the east time-zone still have some time before the promo ends.
If for some reason one location doesn't take your controller because of whatever reason, try going to a different location. Some employees check the controller thoroughly while others don't check it at all.
Thanks OP.

exact same situation. Dusty worn grips on old ps4 crt = $50 PSN card!CarlCarlson wrote: ↑ Just traded in my original PS4 controller. It had a small part of the rubber on the thumbgrip worn off but otherwise was in good shape. No issues with the trade in. Was in and out of store in 2 minutes. Solid trade in value for a 3 year old controller.
Thanks Carl!

Thanks guys!FreedomG20 wrote: ↑ LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPT AGAIN.
Gift cards have no tax. PS3 controller credit is supposed to be $30. That is why you paid $20 and only $20.
Games have tax. If you had chosen a game for $50+tax. Then $30 is tax exempt from controller. You would then pay $20+tax for the left over.
Yeah, it didn't clarify on the receipt whether there was no tax because it was a gift card or because of the trade-in, and I think this was my first trade-in ever. Now I know!

I was going to trade in an older DS4 but one of the stick is a bit looser and drifts after the wifey has dropped the controller countless times.
I just could not do it. Imaging a mom / dad getting a controller 5 dollars cheaper for her / his kid and he gets a bit wonky controller.... .I just couldn't do it...

Getting good deals doesn't necessarily mean we have to lose our morals . Money is not the most important thing in life.
But at the same time, EB games is supposed to make sure the controllers work properly before reselling them.

Late post but wanted to thank OP.
Traded in both my day 1 controllers and pre-ordered South Park coz they didn't have Anthem on the system yet. After, I went to the Superstore and picked up the rev 2 controllers during the tax free event, plus 10% off coz I know someone who works for the company (employee perk). Liking these new ones so far.
