[eBay.ca] eBay: MacBook Pro 15" (June 2017, 256GB/512GB) - $2599/$2999

Spotted this in an eBay e-mail. BNIB MacBook Pro 15" models, $2,599 for the 256GB model and $2999 for the 512GB model. To put this into perspective, retail prices for these are $3199 and $3699 respectively. To compare with the October 2016 refurb models, the 256GB is $2539, so for $60 more, you get a brand new unit of this year's model. A lot of money, yes, but if you are not comfortable with used/open box, probably would be tough to find a better deal for a BNIB one. Might be able to apply the coupon that is on right now, PSHOPNSAVE15 to save a bit more ($15 USD) as well.

This eBay seller also charges sales tax, at least in Ontario

Ends up being $2,937 for the 256GB model

I bought a brand new sealed (which I opened and tested before buying) 2017 Macbook Pro 15 - MPTT2LL for $3000 on kijiji - I don't know how they procure these.

I bought a new sealed 2015 15inch pro last year on craigslist for 2100. Didn't even test it. Gave him the money and said good bye. Everything did turn out great tho haha. Macbook had a perfect screen.

just checked the specs - perhaps 'test' was a wrong word. Everything worked out good. Warranty had already commenced - even though it was sealed. So maybe this was stolen stock - I did get a personal receipt from him.

faked receipt?

sealing can be done easily.

you should have tested the following, at least:
  1. check the battery https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201585
  2. run Geekbench and compare your results with existing published benchmarks http://www.geekbench.com/
  3. Check the health of the SSD https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id569141856

When I bought a Laptop from a guy locally, I called Apple and made sure the laptop was not marked as stolen. Compared the serial of the machine to the box. Once the Apple CSR told me it's all good. I bought it. Got Applecare and all was good.

I bought the 2017 15" from Apple with free Beats. Took it back. I hated the keyboard and the touch panel was totally useless. For $3900, it was way overpriced.

Omg are these things overpriced. The wife bought one off a client's of her. She got a $5000 Mb pro for $4000 and believed she was getting a bargain because "it's apple and it never gets discounted".

Boy is she regretting her purchase. Used it once and never touched it again, charger and cables are still all sealed. Now she's saying she's saving it for my son when he goes to college..... My son is only 12...... $4000 paperweight
