unless they put a tamper proof tape all over the box I am not really sure how they can enforce that policy.

For those who care, you can get 28 airmiles per 20$ spent ( before tax and shipping) on ebay purchases through airmilesshop.ca.

Seeing as 95 miles is worth $10 in cashbask, you're looking at an even cheaper tv.

Yeah ebates is kinda misleading that way. You can only tell by going to the breakdown page (click the unintuitive, tiny link that says "See all categories for eBay.ca") - clicking anywhere else in the square takes you directly to the jump page which also says you're on your way to saving 6% and doesn't give you any time to look around. Currently there are only four categories that are 6% and none of them are for TVs. In fact, I don't know which one is for TVs - as far as I can see there is no 'TV' or 'Entertainment' category (what the hell is Entertainment Memorabilia?) so that makes me wonder if you even get anything at all. Every other category is at 1% but that doesn't stop ebates from slapping a big red 6% on every page but the breakdown. I don't even bother looking to see who has the best deal any more, I just use GCR because it is consistently better for the things I buy across the board. It might be worth it if you're a big... uh... "Home and Beauty" shopper...
Please excuse my son, he's artistic.

There is no service run by the city that goes door to door picking up electronics.
There always was before this eco fee was introduced ....... it was called weekly garbage pickup.
A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.

Sorry for being thick, but airmilesshop.ca is only offering me 1 mile per $20 spent. What am I doing wrong?

Those are base miles. Its 3x the base for ebay, and a bonus 25 for almost every shop. Based on the website, its good until March 22nd.

Nope its not. The 55" was falsely advertised to be one and when people started wondering they were told that HDR is going to be enabled via a "future" firmware update, they have taken down that part of the advertisement since then and that promised firmware update never came out.

How well does this TV adapt to being used as a computer monitor? Considering picking this up to be used as one...

Any TV can accept HDR signal with a firmware update, even if such update exists for this TV, its highly doubtful that this $300 TV is equipped with a panel that is actually capable of displaying HDR signal.
This is no different than marketing an XGA projector as being "HD capable" because it can accept 1080p signal over its HDMI port :)
