[eBay.ca] [Newegg.ca Ebay] Avera Digital 49EQX10 60Hz HDMI 2 49" 4k TV $354.99 LOWEST YET!

The price on this listing has been going up and down like a yo-yo all week, nearly pulled the trigger at 365 on the weekend but by the time I was done due diligence and ready to confirm they were back up to 399 plus shipping. I believe we are looking at the lowest Canadian price yet. Grabbed 3 to replace the two year old Seikis I've been using on my workstation, gaining 10" and 30Hz per head for only ~$1300 all in cheyeeeah~

Yes, they're garbage displays but if you need the real estate and you're sleazy like me have fun rolling around in this deal.

I would say Yes. At least $45 less + FS.
Lol I'm talking about the quality. $45 less and FS is great, but I've never heard of Avera...

I'm isn't the Costco Haier 4k 49" better since you get a 5 year total warranty for $29.99. Might be wiser option instead of buying every 2 years.
https://m.costco.ca/Haier-49UF2500-49-i ... 16053.html

It is 399.99 in warehouse.
Is the Avera tv superior in any way?
No the Avera is not superior in any way to the Haier lol. Regular price on the Avera is $369.99 with FS and has been for months and months and months, its a 2015 TV. Black Friday they practically gave them away in the US. Save yourself the headache and spend the extra $45 for 2 year warranty, easy free return with Costco and not to mention a better TV (IMO).

Edit: No mention of warranty on the auction but newegg.ca states 1 year

This is a really good TV for the money. Just make sure you use this fix for 4k

Credit to Leverage for posting this before.
FYI, OP TV is 2015 model, the review and "calibration" is for 2016 model

Looked up and researched OP TV for a few weeks last year before I decided to get the Haier

Lowest price because this is the very first time I heard of the brand. Maybe Avira AG's sister company.

If you're looking for a cheap main TV and you can't afford a real brand like Samsung the Haier is probably a better fit for you, especially if you're the type who likes shelling out for extended warranties. I bought a midrange 65" Vizio for the cameras and I'm pretty happy with that.

The way I see it, failure rates tend to be parabolic and most credit cards will extend the 1 year warranty another year. If the TV doesn't fail in the first two years you're probably going to get another few out of it - that means for the $55 (if you buy online and have it shipped, apples to apples) you save plus the $29.99 extended warranty that you may not feel you need, this could be a good deal for you. Especially if you're buying three.

Personally, I don't like extended warranties because I never end up needing them and the odd time I do they find some way to screw me. So I'd rather throw it in the lake (I paid the e-waste fees after all) and just get a new one. These days it's faster and more convenient to have a new unit dropped on your doorstep than it is to yak with some punter and drag it all the way to the PO and wait for them to assess and RMA the damn thing. To each his own :)

You're even sleazier than I thought if you're going to replace those triplets with 49"s

Bit of a size queen :3 I used to use 4x1080s at 24" in quad formation so when I moved to 39" 4ks things got a little squinty due to the increase in DPI. 49" will be more like what I'm used to and much easier to read from farther away. If I wanted to run high resolution with the same area it would be way slower than it is now, look at the old card I'm running in the workstation. Although I bought an RX 480 from one of the other threads the other week it's still too new for Gentoo :'<
