Eggs. Basket. All. Don't put.
A few years and a few exs ago, I decided to give my then gf a new watch for v-day. She dug kinder eggs so I got one of those jumbo eggs Kinder Inc. had for a while. I carefully unwrapped it, cut it in two, and replaced the original cheesy surprise with the watch. Afterwards I sealed it back up () and rewrapped it.
Well, it seems I did too good a job. She unwrapped the kinder egg, probably thinking I'm an idiot for giving her a kinder surprise for valentines (ooo, big spender), and opened the surprise and just sat their staring at the watch. No hug, no squeal of glee. Just her muttering "Wow, they sure are giving nicer surprises these days."
....
<sigh>
/Can't take full credit, old coworker proposed to his gal this way first
//To reseal egg: warm up a frying pan, touch each half of the egg to the pan briefly so the chocolate just starts to melt and then hold the two halves back together for a minute or two

haha funny story!
I actually used the kinder egg for surprises too..but instead of re-heating the chocolate to put it back together, I used honey
Just a tip for all of you that may use this idea

Honey is a brilliant idea! And likely cheaper than the electricity/gas used to warm the plan, unless of course you rent and electricity is included ;-)
The jumbo kinder eggs have jumbo sized plastic containers in them. I was very lucky the watch fit... otherwise it might have been full of chocolate :P
What brand? Took me a minute to realize why you'd ask. It was a fossil... so not too cheap looking, IMO. She was still wearing it long after we split up, so she must have liked it :-D
