If it was reported on your ROE, don't report it. If it wasn't, you'll need to declare it.jellytot88 wrote: ↑ Hello. I was wondering if I could please get some advice on the following?
I was laid off in January. Fortunately my employer was going to give me a fairly generous severance package. However, that severance wasn't paid to me until recently.
When filing my EI report, there is a question: "Is there any other money that you have not previously told us about, that you received or will receive for the period of this report?"
The severance payment falls within the date range. (I don't know if the following is important or not: my EI claim finalization date was a couple of weeks after the severance was deposited.)
So should I answer Yes to this question? But if I do, will I lose my EI? What's the right thing to do?
