It's 28 days from your application date. If everything's there and there aren't errors or contentious issues it can be automated overnight. If things are missing or ambiguous, expect to wait longer than the 28 days.jemilecardiff wrote: ↑Yes they did fill that out. Thanks for answering my question. Hi Clseea, I'm fairly new here so I hope I'm posting this right. My situation is this...I'm severely anemic and iron deficient. I was working full time in a commissioned environment for the last year and a half but my health was slowly catching up to me. I couldn't manage the hours and demands especially since once a month I had female issues that rendered me almost useless and is the primary reason for being anemic. I eventually found a part time job and left the other company. It was supposed to be a much simpler receptionist position but as soon as I started it turned out to be nothing like that. They decided to lower my wage(just to see how it goes) there is no commision(which i was promised) and instead of just the daily duties of answering the phones, selling and booking appts, they gave me 3 months of backlogged bookkeeping for both businesses and now they want to me to do all the bookkeeping for all their rental properties and personal taxes, payroll, reconciliation of sales for both locations ect ect pretty much anything they can think of.I'm not even answering the phone anymore. Essentially a full time job in a 20 hour work week. They are demanding, shady and change what they want me to do everyday. I can not keep up. I also can't keep up physically and mentally. Its super depressing since the job I left I was considered a model employee and my reviews on my performance was perfect. These bosses are terrible, this is not the job I signed up for but they keep saying, oh it's just a couple of receipts you have to add up and then they pass me boxes and boxes of stuff. On the health front, its all falling apart now and I'm not sure if it's accumulative or being depressed is making it worse. I'm seeing a dr to see if a partial hysterectomy is the solution for my health. So my question is this 1) Would I qualify for sickness benefits if i decided to quit my job? I'm pretty sure that my family doc will sign the papers given how many specialists I'm seeing to treat all the ailments I have. and 2), do I need this employer to agree to that for my roe? this employer has a history with the EI office in our area. One of my colleagues at work currently was fired by them and went to ei and explained how they change what they want from you and all the crazy demands and the ei agent after speaking to this employer, sided with my colleague. She was able to collect for 3 months reg ei. Thank you in advance for your help

I have reason to believe somebody is collecting sick leave benefits while still working at the very job they are claiming they are too sick to work at. They are self employed. If I report them, what is the investigation process? is this taken seriously? Are all claims investigated? Do you know what the possible outcomes are?

I have a quick question i would appreciate an answer.
I was accepted for benefits and have been accepting benefits for the last month. I found a job last week and accepted the offer. After working their for a week i believe i am not mentally capable of doing the job i was hired for. Can i quit this job and continue to collect while looking for something more suitable?
Thanks in advance

Not unless you exhaust reasonable alternatives and have just cause... which you probably won't be able to do after only a weekCorey403 wrote: ↑I have a quick question i would appreciate an answer.

They'll investigate how they investigate. Fines, increased entrance requirements, jail, castration.... See the link for methods of reporting fraudScootergirlz wrote: ↑I have reason to believe somebody is collecting sick leave benefits while still working at the very job they are claiming they are too sick to work at. Get medical documentation before you quit. If your doctor advises you to quit, you won't have an issue.mroots wrote: ↑Hi Clseea, I'm fairly new here so I hope I'm posting this right. I went to an employment Ontario Centre, with the goal of applying for second career.
I want to leave my current field and get skills to earn more. Hence second career. However, The counselors here are making me go to Hiring Fairs, with temp agencies.
These jobs are well below my pay grade, for grunt work. My question is..
Will I lose my EI as soon as I refuse one of these jobs? On the questionaire on the EI reporting form, it asks, If you are willing and able to work.
Being at a Employment ontario centre, I will have a witness to my refusal.
I suspect that this is a Harper Gov. EI trap. I can use my EI and volunteer to advance myself thru volunteer experience, not work at min wage factory jobs.
ANy thoughts? will i lose my EI

I have 1475 hours on my ROE. I just asked my friend how many he has. He's gonna check and get back to me. Do you get more weeks ei if you have less insurable hours?b166er1337 wrote: ↑How many insurable hours on your ROE?
I put in a lot of overtime hours over the course of that year. Practically the entire time I was there.

If i get a doctors note to leave a job for health reasons, does it need to be my family doctor or just any doctor ?
I only ask because my family doctor is hours away at the moment.

Doesn't matter... But is just any old doctor going to tell you to quit based on their one time assessment? I'd hope not

Hello there. I hope my question is not too dumb, but I am a little confused about EI. I am not canadian, but I still this does not matter. I will probably get a lay off in March because of no more work, for at least 3 months or so. And I would like to know how much would I get on EI, to be sure if I would need to move out or I will still be able to afford rent. So if in average I make around $1000 (after taxes) every 2 weeks, how do I get an estimate of how much would I get...or should it be the amount before taxes??
Thanks
Thanks

hey, one of the first pages on the application form asks for the number of my ex employer. Is that number the HR number, or the general number, the number of my specific workplace location? Would putting the HR number be alright?

If you don't mind me asking b166er1337, how are insurable hours calculated? I worked well over 52 weeks with the company at 40 hours a week. I worked overtime 56 hours I'd say at least 3/4 or that year. Does 1475 insurable hours sound right to you?
