Electrical hand mixer causes interference with Telus Optic TV
Does this make any sense at all? I can't watch TV if my wife is running this appliance.

That's not the same. Your friend is using wireless. He just needs to change the wireless channel.

Telus Optik is IPTV, so if the OP is using wireless to get the IPTV to the Optik box (Is this possible?) then it could be the same problem. Or he just has really really bad wiring and the stand mixer is sucking up enough power to cause the other outlet to brown.

I asked a buddy electrician. He said that that power outlet and my cable are probably running parallel somewhere in the house and that there the power is creating some kind of interference. can't remember the word he used...
