One of the health system's employees fired off the message on Monday morning without realising they had copied in 840,000 of their co-workers.

The action quickly clogged up the system and was exacerbated by users hitting "reply all" to complain.
This happened at my workplace not too long ago. The number of idiots hitting "reply all" asking to be removed from the reply all was astounding.

Happened in my workplace too to a much smaller extend, not to the whole company but still an annoyingly large email list.

The most astounding was actually the number of reply-to-all replies telling others to stop doing reply-to-all lol :)

Happens at my work.. But its annoying bc of the fluff. Its sales related... So its usually something like "omg congrats to team 3 division!"

Then sll their friggin buddies will reply all and clog up your inbox with congrats!

... and nobody actually knows who that guys in that team are... but says congrats anyway in case they're someone important...

Had this happen... the effects of which were 24 hours of "reply alls" since it was a worldwide company mass email. It was hundreds of emails, I spent an hour deleting it from my inbox.

Happened once when I worked at Vancouver Coastal Health. And of course, everybody starts "replying all" to complain...

Is the NHS including all the doctors, specialists, pharmacists and nurses and other medical staffs or, is it the administrative arm, or both?

I had read before it is Europe's biggest employer with approximately 1m employees... Not sure what this 840k would consist of.

Just read on Wikipedia... Employs 1.7m people

I could maybe understand if you're the kind of person who consistently replies to follow up requests with "sorry, never got the email." But most of the time these people are just being obnoxious jerks.

We had a station attendant send the help desk a request for toner....cced to everyone in the entire MX address book including Presto, meeting room common mailboxes, upper management and Bombardier employees.

Of course, some morons replied to all and eventually I had to clear several hundred emails about the toner from my inbox.

We now cannot send or reply to all unless you have privileges or the address list is 25 or less.

No idea what happened with the attendant. I hope she got some toner after all that.
