they probably get accessories/services for crazy cheap
its just like bestbuy and future shop on pcs/macs/gaming consoles/laptops/anything else that has no margin on it, we get nothing on those, but we get huge discounts off of accessories because theres so much margin on them

Employee Pricing on Cars .. Employees getting shafted?
So I'm not in the market for a car, but I'm seeing all these commercials stating that consumers get employee pricing for their car purchase.
So I'm wondering ... if everyone gets what employees get, then I think the employees are getting shafted as they really don't have any other perks working for the company that they are working for. They are only working for a paycheque.
Does anyone know if the pricing is really the same price employees pay .. or do employees at least get some other perks that make it worthwhile to sell cars (besides a regular paycheque)?

Are you referring to sales employees at dealerships, or assembly employees at plants?
The plant employees are going to receive their regular benefits. and likely be on vacation during the month of July and into August as the plants change over the the next season's production.
Dealer sales reps are still going to receive commission on sales, as the companies offer dealer incentives to move out existing stock.
This cycle has happened for many years now, and is not something new to offer late in season sales incentives.

The way I look at it, if employee pricing helps sell cars and keep auto workers working, it's a win-win for everyone.

How about keeping your job and getting a pay cheque as a perk.

My cousin works for Gm and he says his price is still lower. But he works directly for gm not the dealer. These could be the prices dealer staff gets.

"Employee Pricing" is probably more propaganda/promotion than actual fact.

Just because I work for a gold mining company, doesn't mean i get GOLD at a discount!!!!
So it's just a 'perk' of working at their dealership, it doesn't impact their commission/pay.
