The End of The Simpsons
Wow, I'd never thought I'd see the day when this show would be in talks of ending. I knew it couldn't go on forever...but..my children...they must enjoy the antics of Bart and Homer. Poor deprived children.
Anyway, news is, Matt Groening wants to end the Simpsons in 2008 with 365 episodes.
"I'd love to get to 365 episodes, so there's one for every day of the year with no repeats."

I'm a huge Simpsons fan, but I'll be the first to admit they've really gone downhill the past few seasons, because they've run out of stuff to do!
Part of me would enjoy a break from them...maybe if they were to all take 5 years off or something so we can digest all the good episodes, then we'll take some more...kinda like Family Guy

I believe Family Guy is due to start in 2005, along with Seth's new toon, American Dad.

I agree. It just hasn't been the same. It's been a great run.
Although I like the idea of 365 episodes.
Simpsons along with Seinfeld seem to always be playing. Both shows you can easilly watch a couple episdoes every day.

How about another source other than Ireland Online? Yes, their CONTRACT has been extended for another 4 years, but that doesn't mean it's going to end in 4 years. ALL television shows have contracts, and the Simpsons isn't any different.

Ireland Online just happened to be the source page loaded from Google News...but if it makes you happier, here's more:
The Sun
FT
And I've read about it today in the Metro and 24 Hours. Although they are Free press, just to show that the source isn't only from Ireland.
Although I do like your article more. BTW. Is it just me, or is that article dated May 2, 2002?

I wish it had ended after 10 seasons, considering how the show has turned into a horrible parody of itself and everything else...that said, if it's going to end now, 365 sounds pretty good.

its been a good run, the writers are really just running out of ideas. at least we've got family guy to look forward too, i think they're like the simpson's but they push the envelope a little bit more.
