I just had him at my house, he did a great job. I'll be doing attic insulation, air sealing, toilet upgrade. I found the blower test very helpful, there was a lot of air coming through the 2nd floor baseboards, so I'm pulling them off to seal behind them.
I highly recommend the $97 Glacier Bay toilet at Home Depot, you get the $65 ecoenergy grant for it, and it flushes better and runs quieter than the 14 gal/flush toilet it replaced. Looks nice too.

Considering an audit, as we are having some windows done (the refund if it's still available when the final audit is done) should cover the cost of the audit - hopefully it will show if there are any glaring items that should be taken care of as well.
Do any RFD'ers have recommendations as to who to use in Northern Toronto for an audit? I'll give energyadvisor a call tomorrow - but wouldn't mind another alternative to compare with._______________
Boycott the Canadian Tire located at 403 & Dundas for it's clueless automotive department, poor service and lack of commonly stocked items.

I used Direct Energy to do the audit. The cost is the same everywhere.

I'm afraid I don't agree with the above statement that the cost of the audit is the same everywhere. There are many companies charging upwards of $350.00 for the first audit and $175.00 for the second. I have reduced my prices (not quality) to stay competitive and help out homeowners as there is only 2 1/2 months left in the program. I would suggest you call some other companies and you will find there are very few that charge this rate.

Agreed, I got a quote for $450 to have my audit done. That was was before I told them I was already in the program and paying a total of $150... awkward moment...

Yup companies are charging different prices. I paid $300. One company said $450 to me.

Kinda off topic, but want to know :P
How would you say the outlook for the energy audit profession is in Canada?
If i were to enter the profession, what would be some of the qualifications that i will need?
And if you dont mind me asking, how much would a starting energy auditor make per year?
Thanks!_______________
