engagement ring decision? Professional help?

Hi everyone, looking to purchase an round diamond, I limited my choice these 3, roughly the same price and size, they all have slightly different inclusions per say. Based on your expereince, which would you say is a better option??

1- http://www.bluenile.com/ca/diamond-deta ... k=Detlink1
Round, Ideal‑cut, G‑colour, VVS2‑clarity, 1.51carat
Considered VVS but it seems there is more inclusions based on GIA?

2- http://www.bluenile.com/ca/diamond-deta ... k=Detlink2
Round, Ideal‑cut, G‑colour, VS1‑clarity , 1.53 carat
Seems nearly no inclusion but the GIA is from 2007 so likely a trade in? Not sure if that is a factor to consider

Round, Ideal-cut, G color, VS1- Clarity, 1.51 carat

Of the 3 diamonds, or other similar diamond that I should consider, which of them seems ideal? I was reading table, depth etc but it seems that is just worrying about the small stuff?

Personally, I wouldn't buy a diamond higher than an eye clean SI1. For me, it's just not worth the premium. I'd suppose that all three of those would be eye clean. I'm not sure if it's just the photo they supply but the first one doesn't show a hearts and arrow pattern like the other two. So if that's the case, I'd eliminate the first one but that's just personal preference.

I agree wih amz155, the preium for being cleaner than SI1 is very high, but if you've decied to buy one of those stones, my suggestion would be to get number 2 because inclusions below the table are the most "visible".

how can you tell it's hearts an arrows from that picture?

I'd say go for the 2nd one.. the GIA cert is from 2007 though... kinda odd (old diamond?)

Based on the pictures i will pick the 2nd one. But it is always better when you can see it in person. Have you consider a small size but with a higher grade in color? you will see some coloring in G.

Reading the information about table, depth, crown and pavilion angles is very important - those are the factors which impact the light performance of the diamond, determine how much is will sparkle and return light, and also impacts the value. Cut is king. I like to use the Holloway Cut Advisor tool when selecting stones (https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca) - it's helps eliminate poor performers and down-select stones that should further be evaluated for light performance using ASET and idealscope images (you'll need to ask the online vendor for those images - James Allen can provide them, not sure if Blue Nile has started providing them though).

The cut on the first stone isn't that great - I'd remove that from the list right away. The second two look like they have good dimensions, are nice and clean looking, and will offer a good value for the color. The next step would be to evaluate their ASET images to further assess light performance.
