Engagement rings - peoples jewellers

Any suggestions on where to get a engagement ring? Been to peoples jewellers a few times & have one ring in mind....however a friend of mine has told me about James Allen website and seems to be cheaper for the same quality or better of a ring.

Any peoples jewellers promo/coupon codes?

Lol, like a Zillion Years ago, my SO & I bought our original rings (Women’s Bridal Set & Men’s Wedding Band) at Peoples
No complaints

In fact a key factor was their diamond documentation, warranty and upgrade guarantee
(If you ever want to upgrade, they’ll buy back your original rings / set at the price you paid... good deal considering how Diamond Rings actually are like cars... they depreciate)
Don’t know if they have the same deal now or not

I lost my Wedding Band at one point ... and cause of the good documentation my Insurance Co replaced it without any hassle
(Current market value)

We’ve never upgraded the Bridal Set (sentimental value)
But I have bought other Anniversary gifts for important milestones
Got a nice Diamond Anniversary Band at Peoples
A cocktail ring at an Independent Jewellers
And a tennis bracelet stateside
(75% Off... and waaay less than here in Canada ... even when going to Zales which is Peoples Parent Co)

Point is Peoples is still a decent Jeweller, with a trusted reputation
But there are lots of other sources to consider

Primary thing is EDUCATE yourself on fine Jewellery
And in particular Diamonds ... lots to learn
(Like buying a car / house ... buyer beware)

Then you’ll get the best bang for your buck

This RFD Topic is a great starting point

I don’t like buying diamonds in Canada because a lot of brokers don’t use GIA for certification

My choice is bluenile. I think they have the best price and they will teach you about diamonds so you can make an informed decision.

I bought from Whiteflash and used Pricescope for research. If you're buying a round diamond, try the Holloway Cut Advisor calculator to measure the potential light return, fire, scintillation, etc: Link

Online, they currently have 20% off bridal. Not sure if in-store as well. However, they do have ship to store.

If you shop online at some of the vendors mentioned above, you won't need to worry about missing the sale at People's. You can get better quality, for a better price online.
