Engraving pattern on patio sliding door
I try to create some pattern on my patio sliding door. What kind of material should I use ? I am thinking of using etching cream. Any other suggestions ?
Thanks.

I certainly wouldn't do anything permanent or on a newer door. Depending on the design it could lower resale value or void the warranty on the door. There is a frosted film that can be bought that is not permanent. It's available from speciality stores and places that do vinyl signs. Home Depot sells kits for windows and doors as well.

I echo the frosted adhesive idea. Etching cream is not easy to control with a large surface (if you look for consistency). I've played with etching cream on small surfaces and the first couple of tries were adventurous to say the least. Film gives you much larger margin of error and a lot less work

Thanks for the advise. I did check the film from Home Depot but doesn't like the pattern. I also tried the frosted spray paint on a window. I found the spray is not eay to control either.
So, I can find a specialty store and have the pattern custom make ? Any particular one in mind ?
