As in purchasing goods or services from US businesses...which would mean alot of us would be affected? LOL
LOL. No, only if that purchase required a credit check. Like a house in Florida. Check the news , lots of articles about that.

Ah, in the case it would be very little, as Canadians don't generally have any credit history in the US to report anyways.

Looks like the breach was only affecting Canadians dealing with US businesses. That means most of us are not affected anyway.
Lets hope so.

However, what you heard was from News Outlets calling Equifax's customer service department and not an official Equifax Canada statement. The customer service reps are quoted as saying "unlikely to be part of any breach", meaning there's still a possibility. If Canada was in the clear, it would have been in Equifax's best interest in saying so, but they haven't. So makes you wonder what's the hold up with the official statement.
The Canadian Press made multiple calls as consumers to Equifax Canada's customer service line and were told that consumers whose credit files were not checked outside of Canada are unlikely to be part of any breach.

Equifax Canada did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

I find it ridiculous that any bank or company that continues to work with equifax is insane. Equifax should die off and be burned completely.
