exchange or return to different store?

I got an authentic euro 2012 Jersey from my brother (who bought it off Someone). The problem is the Jersey is too big.

Can I exchange it at a store that sells the same Jersey without a receipt? Or can I buy my size and then use the receipt to return the larger size?

walmart doesnt sell soccer jerseys and they definitely need receipts

I guess my concern is with the barcode.....is it universal? can they scan it and know it's not bought from their store?

No, you cannot return it to a store, unless you explain to the clerk that it wasn't bought at the store and they are willing to make an exchange for a smaller size. Doing anything else is a criminal act. Why not ask the guy who sold the jersey to your brother about his return policy, sell it yourself and then buy another one or see if you can find someone to trade sizes with online (something I've done in the past)?

I was being sarcastic, but, I have returned stuff to Walmart without a receipt. Last time I did this was 2 months ago.

OP should try to return with explanation to a sports place. Depending on the condition they may do it.
