Exotic restaurant in the gTA

Allright.. so, Im south american and have tried a bunch of different types of food from different places, but recently took an interest in trying some new stuff. Last week I went to a Nepalese restaurant (it was okay..) and 2 days ago I tried ethiopian food for the first time (and loved it).

Any suggestions for a type of exotic cuisine? I mentioned being south american so that people wont suggest me trying brazilian "churrasco" (ok.. I am brazilian...). I already know and eat regularly: japanese, korean, chinese, italian, thai, middle eastern, indian, etc.. most of the main stream stuff. But Im particularly interested in african options. Just found an interesting Eritrean place that I will likely try this weekend.

Any suggestions?

Is indian exotic for you?

If so, you can try kwality sweets and restaurat, brars (veg only) or tandoori flame.

Hot dog stands found all over the GTA, notably in front of Nathan Phillips Square. Why? Because we don't know what kind of meat (if any) it is! Exotic enough for ya? ;)

You mentioned Korean, but have you ate live octopus tentacles sprinkled with soy sauce? Which believe it or not, available in the GTA at certain Korean restaurants.

Been to Mustafa too.. and LOVED it...

On a side note, I happened to come across an interesting place this weekend... had lunch yesterday at a small restaurant (real family owned place) in Etobicoke, called Royal Myanmar.... ABSOLUTE fantastic food! I was licking my fingers at the end of the mean. While I expected it to be just another "asian" style place, the spices were completely different than what you get at a thai, chinese, etc...

Try Watan Kabob in Mississauga for mouth watering Afghan food.

Try Eat More in Mississauga for Pakistani food.

Since you're particularly interested in African food there are Somali options in....you guessed it...Rexdale. I haven't tried personally.

This will likely sound funny (coming from a guy asking for recommendations on exotic restaurants) but I actually dont eat red meat at all...so burgers are out of question. Even vegetarian burgers are tricky for me, as I avoid those burger places that use the same grill for any kind of meat. I remember last year I went to 2 different middle eastern places in Vaughan, and walked out without eating.... simply because as I walked in I noticed a burger or pork or something on the griddle where they also made chicken or vegetarian dishes.

Korean - I would not eat a live animal under any circumstance.

I was just trying to push the envelope of exotic...
Nailed it! Lol

But try the chinese place with the green sign at pharmacy and mcnicol... they are well known for their spicy bbq lamb. Its chinese cuisine, but unique. Its chinese food that borrows influence from muslim villages in western China.
Have it with some green onion pancake...

Oops again with red meat... they have a chicken version.

Yes - somehow I missed it. In any case, I find that in most cases there are always interesting options in pretty much any cuisine. I still eat chicken and seafood too, btw.

If you want to try something different, not really exotic cuisine as this is Chinese, try Kung Fu Duck. Their setup is a take out counter, so you can see all the available products. Mostly chicken and duck. Chicken knuckle is awesome.

They have a few locations, North York and Scarborough are the ones I know of. No English but I usually just point and hope for the best.

What do you usually order there that's good. Been there twice and both times there were a lot of items on the menu not available. I wrote this place off and just go to One2Snacks if craving Malaysian.
