Experience with Boxing Day Deals-Photographic Equipment

Alright guys, as the title states..I'm very curious as to what kind of deals are there available on boxing day for photography equipment. I would like to know what kind of deals you guys may have and any tips for successful shopping experience.

Me personally, I bought a D80 last year that came with the 16-85 lens for 830 without tax at Henry's which I thought was a great deal. I'm also looking to purchase a 35mm f/1.8 prime this boxing day, any tips for a deal?

Scarborough / Markha…
same question as OP, do they usually have deals during boxing day on such things like lenses? I am also looking to get a 35mm f/1.8 or a nice SB-600 lol

D80 body with the 16-85 for 830????????
That's really good, its essentially a free D80 body with the purchase of the 16-85 lens :D

in my experience there are no "advertised" smoking hot deals on camera stuff. Usually some decent discounts on the entry level DSLRs packaged with the accessory kits but otherwise nothing too crazy on the pro level or on lenses.

ive checked many camera stores the day of and never came across anything worth while.

maybe others have had better luck?

I dunno. There's at least more room for negotiation. I went to Downtown Camera last year a few days before Christmas and asked about the Canon 50mm f/1.4. They gave me their price, and I asked, "any boxing day sales coming up?" and they dropped the price $50 right away.

Has anyone bothered with Henry's, Vistek, etc for boxing day? I'll be out and about shopping at a couple of stores, but I don't want to bother fighting for parking if there's nothing interesting..

Vistek's and Henrys's hot deals are basically Aden's prices. Aden doesn't have much of a Boxing Day sale. Case in point: just price match Aden.

that D80 was a price error from what I recall.
Usually on boxing day theres like one entry level camera thats on some good deal.
Other than that, a sale like any other.
