I know many professionals who would rather take this camera out than their bigger DSLRs. Thats why I recommend this to people to buy as a gift, so that its actually practical.
If you go buy a smaller point and shoot for $100-200, its not gonna be much of a better picture than people's iPhones + instagram
If you go buy a Canon/Nikon/Sony DSLR, most people wont be able to carry it around with them all the time to take many good pictures
this is a great size for people to keep in their backpacks, and it takes changeable lenses, so it allows people to upgrade as they improve on photography skills. a fixed lens camera will get worn out quickly, and its a waste of money at the end

for those of you that really want to save money, you can often find these compact mirror less cameras second hand for pretty cheap. This Panasonic GF3 and Olympus E-PM1 are the two smallest and most compact cameras in the product line, and they arent that expensive

It's pretty simple: If you want a small, easy to use mirrorless interchangable lens camera, GF3 should be right up your alley. In fact, at that price, I don't even know why you're still here.
But if you want more controls, you're gonna have to look elsewhere.

the best thing to do is sell the 14mm you get, on kijiji or craigslist. since you get the 14mm brand new, people will pay good $$ for it. then you find a cheap used 20mm f1.7 lens to go on your GF3, MUCH better quality and versatile in many situations.

They're here because Aden Camera is still close.

Vistek does participate in the airmiles rewards program and accepts Paypal.
Wondering if they will price match for people before checking out through paypal, that is an easy $17.50 off there (5% cash back)!

the only thing about this deal, is that it is fairly likely this package will lower further to somethig like $329.. I remember GF2 and 14mm was $329 last year, do anyone here remember?

Wow great price. I paid a lot more for mine with the power zoom lens on clearance at BB earlier this year.
I'll second that this is a great pocketable camera. Especially when you consider that a lot of the Sony NEX cameras are bulky with their huge kit lenses. I've got a DSLR and P&S and this is so much more versatile. Actually, another reason to get this is that hasn't been mentioned is the video quality. It has great and quiet autofocus in video mode and is the main reason I picked this up.
Is there another good cheap everyday prime lens for this thing other than the 20mm? Something equivalent to the 50mm 1.8 Nikkor/Canon lenses?Last edited by looniepincher; Dec 1st, 2012 at 07:54 AM.

personally, i would go with the gf2 over the gf3.
google comparisons between the two and see that they almost all favor the gf2.
more manual controls and hot shoe nare main reasons.
the gf3 is slightly smaller though but more crippled.
gf2 also cheaper_______________
ever wonder why its forbidden to see a girls breasts in a video game but its perfectly fine to mutilate and kill people?
that is the mentality of christians and other religious freaks - the morons that make our laws.

How is this hot?
Some other retailers are selling for this price, and in USA, it's like standard price.
And from the feedback on this camera, it's not a very good one.
So unless you actually going to keep it, not worth risk and I am pretty sure there are better cameras at same price range out there.
It took me forever to sell the GF2 last year, I won't do same mistake again._______________
Good...Good...
