Be warned the spec sheet is wrong, there is no mega ois or 1080p video, it's no in body or lens stabilization with this lens and 1080i video.

The GF2 with 14mm is still $329 (Red version) at Aden.
For any newbies out there thinking of upgrading from P&S or phone cameras, these things aren't that pocketable - they don't fit into your pant/shirt pocket and if they do fit into a jacket pocket, they noticeably bulge out and will be a tight/uncomfortable fit. With the 20mm lens you can forget about carrying it in anything other than a bag.
So just know that these cameras are great for the DSLR guys/gals who want something "smaller" to walk around with in comparison to their larger more professional gear, but for the average consumer looking to pick this up for casual pics at parties etc I will emphasize the importance of checking them out in person before you buy it online because they're not as pocketable as they might seem._______________

I'll have to chime in here for the uninformed newbies lol, you'll get no more than $200 for the 14mm despite whatever prices the lens retails at Henrys, Aden, etc because if anyone goes searching around craigslist for the 14mm (instead of say a zoom or the much loved 20mm) they're likely informed enough (ie. a newb isn't going to buy a "body" and lens separately) to know it's no more than $180 on ebay brand new shipped.
And the 20mm 1.7 goes for around $400 give or take $20, maybe $350 if you're really lucky with someone who is desperate (but this is rare as the 20mm has great resale value and is easily sold), so say you sell your 14mm for $200 (if you are lucky, it'll take a LONG time to sell), camera effectively costs $188, plus the 20mm for $350 (more like $400).
Also I've noticed that my non-photo friends are always bewildered and put-off the fact that you can't zoom with these primes.
Just saying all this for anyone out there are beginners, I know everyone else who's informed enough to know what micro 4/3 even means has some idea of what they are looking for._______________

I bought the 1.7 20mm BRAND NEW from a camera store in NY and it was less than $380 including taxes June 2012. I sold the 14mm right way like within 2 days for $170. In total I paid about $500 in the end for the camera in WHITE colour with the 1.7 20mm. I think it is a great price considering I was very happy with the pics afterwards.

what's wrong with 14mm? it has excellent IQ. 20mm is one stop faster, but AF is slower.

I think it is silly to compare this to an LX cam. I had an LX and GF1 and there was no comparison, so a small weight penalty the GF took far better photos. The GF1 + prime was basically a 'flash optional' camera. I hardly ever used the flash including lots of indoor holiday season shots.
This price for a GF and prime lens is great.
Great deal. Very tempting.

Not everyone will have the ability to be in NY to get the 20mm but having said that - care to share which store it was, because under $380 taxes in is a damn good price and anyone who happens to visit NY should pick one up!
edit: nevermind I'm guessing it's BH, minus the duties and shipping I could see how you could pick one up for under $380 at a brick and mortar store. That being said, there's still duties charges to account for...Last edited by Ticco; Dec 1st, 2012 at 03:00 PM.

I'd pick one up used. Panasonic US warranty doesn't work in Canada, and Panasonic International Warranty sucks (something like 90 days). just look for one for $360-$380, make sure to inspect the glass and test out before you buy, if you buy a good one used then it's really worth it
