Are you sure you can just swap in your PVR? Dual tuner HD PVRs need at least a switch/LNB installed, unless something has changed the last few months. HD feeds come from a different satellite.
Bell has a few standard def. PVRs (5X00 models) and the HD PVR (9200).
I don't know the ins and outs of the receivers, but I would hope the 9200 being a newer model would be more desirable. If you don't get any knowledgeable responses here, try the Digital Home Canada Forums: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10

ExpressVu PVR
So I called Bell yesterday...
Their current PVR they offer retails for $599.... or you can rent for $10/month (24 month contract), with an "installation fee" (read: cash grab) of $75.
Note: The installation would consist of removing my old receiver and plugging in the new one.... No new cables would have to be run from the dish.
If I recall correctly, the CSR said the PVR model number is the 9200.
My question to the technophobes... what is the differences between the newer PVR's and the older models? I assume I can buy an older model myself (no contract and save the installation fees...)... but is it worth it? Are all PVR's High Def capable if/when I get a HD tv?
Thanks
M

It's only worth it if you can dump the programs you record onto a DVD later, otherwise, you're better off getting a DVD Recorder with HDD for $400 (even if you can't record in HD).
