He has denied the allegations, no videos have been produced by any news source.

The thread is turning into a pointless debate as there is no evident to support the claim by anybody. It should be locked and the title should also be changed as well.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to announce that Oran is going to be leaving his role of Community Manager as of May 22. Oran has been here for over 2 years we want to thank him for his contributions and wish him the best!

We will be appointing a new community manager at a later date, but from a transition standpoint, Kaitlyn and I will be overseeing the community in the interim.

Mods: Helpful Suggestion/Request

This is aimed at the Personal Finance Forum mods, but if you agree/disagree please jump in.

This is a large forum filled with vast amounts of information and knowledgeable experts. However, time and time again, it seems the same questions are asked. It's great to give everyone instant, personalized responses where possible, but it's fatiguing to read the same question asked 10 times per week.

Therefore, I'm wondering if the forum moderators would consider doing one of two things: either creating more specific sub-forums, or creating stickied threads on specific topics. The purpose would be to push inquiring users to the already exisiting megathreads, and anyone asking a specific question about one of those topics would do so in the existing thread. This would save webspace and better organize the forums, so anyone searching for information on TD e-Series could search one thread of 30 pages (for example) rather than 300 individual posts and responses.

My preference is creating stickied threads on specific topics. Those topics would include:

- TD e-Series funds megathread
- Home Buyers Plan megathread
- Any others?

As well, create at least two new subforums:
- "Credit" where users could discuss credit cards, HELOCs, LOCs, etc.
- "Taxes" where users can discuss their dealings with CRA, filing income tax returns, taking advantage of tax savings, etc.

Thoughts, both from mods and users, would be appreciated.

Hey guys.

I thinks there are a fair bit of computer geeks on this forum. How about a computer programming / modding forum? The "Computers & Electronics" forum is not a suitable place for this. A place where we can talk about programming, app development, h/w modding, blah blah. Would be a popular place I would imagine. Even if you deem h/w modding to be "unsuitable" at least a place for s/w dev should be good.

Last week we deployed a fix which corrected some of the issues regarding hitting the forums from a mobile device - it was not properly redirecting to mobile.

Interestingly, initial investigation indicates this may have been going on for some time, though that is weird as I have not personally noticed it nor seen a flood of complaints regarding "not getting the mobile site".

Have any of you who hit the site from your mobile devices experienced any issues over the past couple of months?

Sports Forum: Can we have an open discussion here on the optimal level of moderation?

Background:

In general, I agree with the sentiments expressed by one of RFD moderators who posted the following:

in response to a concern expressed by another Forum User, on May 13th, 2013 01:21 PM (PT) :

This is a sports forum. There's going to be a lot of bravado and flames all around as people enthusiastically support their team. Do you want us to shut it all down under the umbrella of 'trolling'? I won't speak for the other mods, but I believe some leeway has to be given to allow the threads to flow.
---End Quote---
This was just a subset of a larger discussion/on going concern that reached its peak yesterday where there was a number of complaints being made on why some of the Forum Rules were (allegedly) not being enforced. Fast forward to this morning, I've noticed a number of forum readers making complaints when they saw their posts deleted due to what appears to be a more black and white application of the Forum Rules.

Therefore, as per the thread title:

Should be a way to see which forum moderators are online now

At the bottom of each forum/subforum is a list of that section's moderators, however what is not currently shown is which of those mods are currently online.
As there is no way to mass-message all of them (and that probably wouldn't be desirable from a moderator's point of view), it means that in some cases it is difficult to get a quick response.

Some forums give visitors the ability to identify currently-online moderators via font change (ex: bolding) or a green dot adjacent to the names of currently online moderators. I assume for vBulletin it's doable via a forum mod/plugin.

Example situation in which this would help:
This evening, a thread in Off Topic was locked and then moved to the Archives. I wanted to contact a moderator (any) to implore them to reverse the decision as the thread's purpose was to discuss a current event, and this particular event was unresolved and in fact significant new developments were happening right around the time the thread was locked.
- The 'Report Post' button that's normally available is not available in locked threads, so I couldn't use that.
- The moderator who locked the thread appeared to be offline but I sent them a PM anyhow. An hour and a half later, my PM is still showing as Unread. Who knows when they'll come back online? Could be tomorrow, could be days for all I know.
- I could PM the first listed moderated for Off Topic, but I don't know if they're online, unless I click their name. I could go through 2, 3, 4, 5.. 10.. names before I found one who was online. Would be so much easier if I could just see who among that forum's moderators was currently online.

I know this has been brought up before, but I'd like to know if there has been any progress with this issue:

On my Nokia Lumia 920, the touch-based version of RFD is missing certain elements, mostly a lot of background banner colours and button images. It's not too bad per se, but it gets annoying when I try to select things like sub-forum buttons (which are all blank).

And now with all the great deals on entry-level WP8 phones like the Lumia 520 and HTC 8s, maybe this should be worked on soon =)
