This thread is inspired by the recent collapse of the Leafs in Game 7 vs. the Bruins. Leafs having a 4-1 lead going into the 3rd period, totally collapse allowing Boston to tie the game in under a minute left of regulation, and then go on to lose in OT. That's one.

My second would have to be Raptors vs. 76ers in game 7 where Raptors lost by one point after Vince Carter misses his shot.

Third is Cain Valasquez destroying Brock Lesnar. Brock was never the same after that.

Kind of glad I don't watch much sports, my heart can only take so much :D

Has anyone been down to watch the games? We are thinking of heading down tonight. Is there a family area? Or should we leave the younger kids at home? Can you bring camp chairs or is there not enough room for this.

Thanks

Recommendations for running headphones/earbuds?

Hey sporty RFD'rs,

I'm in the market for a new pair of headphones/earbuds to wear while I run. My old iPod headphones have breathed their last breath so I'm looking for an upgrade to a higher performing replacement.
Two things I'm looking for:
1. Won't fall out while running!
2. This would be a nice to have but possibly conflicting requirements: Good audio range but still let's in a little outside noise so I can hear what's going on around me and not get smoked by a car or cyclist while running.

Any suggestions, recommendations, or comments on what's worked/not worked for you would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

Does anyone own one of these tents? Are these tents any good? I wasn't able to find any review online about them.

I'm interested in this tent. It's a instant pop up tent and the price is right. The last pop up tent i bought was a Broadstone tent for $199, which isn't great.

Vancouver Canucks with all their high expectation, have been swept by the Sharks.
There have been many swepts in history of playoffs, is this the most embarassing? Or do you think there was another team that failed so hard even though there was a higher expectation?

A sign held by a Maple Leafs fan outside the Air Canada Centre on Monday has triggered an avalanche of online outrage.

Before Monday night's Game 3 between the Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins, photos surfaced online of a Leafs fan holding a sign that read "Toronto Stronger."

The message is a direct reference to "Boston Strong," a campaign that became a mantra in that city after the Boston Marathon bombings. The April 15 explosions killed three people and injured more than 260.

Shortly after the sign appeared, it triggered an angry response on Twitter, with many saying the sign was in bad taste in light of the Boston attacks.

I'm wondering if some RFD'ers can help me out.

My hockey team is going to the U.S to play in a tournament and we are looking to find sponsorship from anywhere. Does anyone know or has any type of experience in gaining sponsorship for a hockey team?

How to go about it and what companies might be willing to sponsor a couple of dollars?

Chris Weidman has good takedowns and a really good ground game. The only way Silva has ever lost is by submission, or his very first fight ever way back by decision. Anderson will win on the feet for sure, but you think Weidman can get it to the floor and win or make it interesting?

These guys will be missed...

BEST WISHES TO ONRAIT, O'TOOLE AS THEY HEAD TO LOS ANGELES

TORONTO – TSN today announced that the network's popular sports anchor team of Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole are heading to Los Angeles for exciting new broadcast opportunities on U.S. television.

Onrait and O'Toole will continue hosting Canada's most-watched sports news program, SPORTSCENTRE, until late June.

"It is with mixed emotions that all of us at TSN and Bell Media bid farewell to Jay and Dan. They have made remarkable contributions to TSN and have helped solidify SPORTSCENTRE as Canada's clear choice for sports news," said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. "I've been working with Jay and Dan since the beginning, and their success is a testament to the exceptional talent and original productions that have become a hallmark of Bell Media. I'm sure Jay and Dan will thrive on U.S. television and endear themselves to a whole new legion of fans."

"As ambassadors of the TSN brand, Jay and Dan connect with viewers across the country and have distinguished themselves as two of the most popular broadcasters in Canada," said Stewart Johnston, President, TSN. "They entertain us each morning with their inimitable brand of humour and have inspired a whole new generation of sports fans. While all of us at TSN – and their loyal fans across the country – will miss seeing them every morning, Jay and Dan are leaving for an opportunity of a lifetime and we couldn't be happier for them."

"Every single day I went into work at TSN, I knew I was going to have fun. It's a unique and rare work environment that I never took for granted. I am forever indebted to TSN for letting me be a part of it for the past 10 years," said Dan O'Toole. "Also, if it wasn't for TSN, I would never have been paired with Jay. The fact that TSN took a chance and let us do our own thing every night on SPORTSCENTRE is something we will always be thankful for. Even as we embark on this new adventure, we will forever remain just a tall, lanky kid from Athabasca, Alberta, and a pig farmer from Peterborough, Ontario."

"I started at TSN in 1996 as an editorial assistant on SPORTSDESK, writing highlights for Michael Landsberg and Jim Van Horne, and now I leave the network with a very heavy heart because it is the place I have called home for so many years," said Jay Onrait. "I have made so many lifelong friendships at the network with people far more talented than I am. I will miss everything about TSN.

"The moment I was paired with Dan on SPORTSCENTRE, I knew we had the chance to do something Canadians would really love. For the last decade we have received more love from our viewers than we could have ever imagined – and for this, we are eternally grateful. I am also especially grateful to Mark Milliere, who was my first producer back in 1996 and ended up as my boss. He trusted Dan and I with the freedom to do SPORTSCENTRE our way. We never took that freedom for granted and we will always appreciate the opportunity to host what I still believe is the best sports show in the country.

"We may be heading south...but we remain forever CANADIAN!"

Running Newbie looking for Wallet-friendly Running Shoes

Hopefully I could get a recommendation from you guys regarding a pair of reasonably priced running shoes? I was thinking about going to the New Balance store in Toronto until I looked up their prices... Wow. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but most of their shoes were $150+.

I'm a running newbie. Just looking for a comfortable pair to start running with! Nothing crazy:

* Running on pavement
* Starting with C25K program, will progress from there
* No ambitions to race/run a marathon anytime soon
* Was hoping for sub-$100 but maybe I'm mistaken on how expensive running shoes are

Also, if there's any chance these shoes could double as a comfortable shoe to walk around all-day while traveling, that would be a huge bonus as I'm planning a 10-day trip in July. 95% of the sightseeing will be on foot.

Any suggestions? And a place to get 'em if they're hard to find would be much appreciated :)

what a courageous move.
people like this change the world.

“I’m a 34-year-old N.B.A. center. I’m black and I’m gay,” Collins, who finished this season with the Washington Wizards, writes in the May 6 edition of Sports Illustrated. The magazine published the article online Monday morning.

With that statement, Collins became the first openly gay male athlete who is still active in a major American team sport. Other gay athletes, including the former N.B.A. center John Amaechi, have waited until retirement to divulge their sexuality publicly.
