Facebook Problems - Need Help as Facebook Support is Useless

I am unable to get past the Welcome to Facebook page. I cannot get to my news feed as I keep getting redirected to the welcome page. I tried changing my password but that didn't help either. I try to change the newsfeed to top stories or most recent but that doesn't do anything. I contacted FB Oct 1st but the only reply I got was:
We received your report and appreciate your patience as we work to fix technical problems on Facebook. Though we can't update everyone who submits a report, we're using your feedback to improve the Facebook experience for everyone.
As we work to fix the problem with your News Feed, we hope these articles may provide additional assistance:

To view and adjust your News Feed settings
To learn how News Feed decides which stories to show
To troubleshoot if your News Feed is blank

None of these work. Has anyone had this problem and know how to get past this so that I can see my newsfeed?

I would appreciate any help/suggestions.

Does the problem occur on different computers and/or different browsers?

Try downloading Firefox Portable and see if you have the same problems there. (Make sure you close any other instances of Firefox before you start Firefox Portable.)

Also try visiting http://m.facebook.com .

Like Jorpho suggested, we can continue to help once you try logging in from a different browser.

Tried on another computer same problem. Same thing happens whether I am in IE, FireFox or Chrome

Also try visiting http://m.facebook.com - tried this but same problem. All it wants me to do is add more friends

It doesn't really sound like there's much else you can do, then - unless you want to try the mobile app.

What happens if you try to add more friends from m.facebook.com ?

ETA: You can try using a proxy, in case there's something screwy happening at your ISP. Tunnelbear is quick and easy.

Otherwise, I can only guess that there might be something in your Facebook settings that needs to be changed.
