factory direct, extended service?

Factory direct has an extended warranty service.
Is this any good?
I some how am very skeptical... Im imagining that it is just you buying the service of some dimwitt poking around @ your electonics if it happens to break down...

they dont really advertuise it or push it like the big box guys, so ... its hard to say

maybe b/c their stuff actually breaks often unlike big box stores that sell brand new stuff.

Im just wondering if its any good tho... b/c i wanna buy a 299.99 sony digital camera and i want some insurance on it you know...
its a nice one. The one taht is the size of a credit card but the older model.
