Because she is stubborn as hell and wants the Fairchild TV production shows that are not TVB produced. She can care less about dramas as I download them.
Dragon lady ? ...LoL
Fairchild on cable is a scam, adding $10.15 plus $35 basic cable to get it costs over $50/month
$50/month x 12 = $600/yr x 40yrs = $24,000

TVPad is the best bet for older parents, if they don't mind about Fairchild then a $40 Android mini PC box will do the trick !

I feel for my Asian brothers who live in GTA ...its shocking and a culture shock if you visit Markham and Scarborough, I didn't see a single white dude on the streets while I was driving there ! ...LoL

At certain locations (I believe Scarborough) that were once serviced by Shaw (and later sold to Rogers), Shaw provided Fairchild via analog. When Rogers took over, they grandfathered that service. If I recall Rogers once wanted to get rid of that analog service and there was a big uproar, so Rogers caved in.

Found this:

http://ciktel.com/ecm/eng/Residential/Iptv/iptv.asp

19.95/month for FAIRCHILD alone
CIK is an IPTV provider meaning you have to purchase internet from them to use their TV service and possibly buy the hardware. I'm sure its written somewhere that you need a basic package to buy the fairchild add-on.

how much are you paying with rogers? For just the one channel telus is charging $12. Or pay $20 and get 6 channels in a superpack. $5 the 1st 6 months. Includes fairchild tv and fairchild tv hd.
