I didn't join with him yet. We are still on our first month free of premium and my wife/kids are begging to revert to google play music - which we just dropped for spotify.
Might be looking for a GPM family account afterall.

Looking to join a Spotify family buy, I was in one till recently as my one year came up, everything was smooth so hoping to find another awesome group buy. If anyone is starting one I'd be interested as long as they have some history on RFD.

Just so everyone know, I've been in a group that was formed in this thread for almost the whole year and had no issues whatsoever, and just today my account was deleted by spotify for some reason and there was no way to restore it! Don't know if that's a result of an audit run by Spotify or not, but I'm so pissed that Lost all my playlists and music collection forever :(

Just wanted to share my experience!

On that note, how does Spotify validate users are at the same address? If it's something IP-based, then how are these group-buys possible?

EDIT: Looks like they are doing exactly that: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Premiu ... -p/1708068
Your IP will change if you're using Wifi home or work, Public Wifi, Mobile network, etc. I use Spotify in my car on a mobile network. When I signed up for Spotify I was on a mobile network.
As long as the home address is the same for all accounts they satisfy their obligation to the music catalogue companies.

I’m sure they could maybe ban you if your mobile ip is a different province then the others for a long time
