faster repair for strained neck/back?
probably shouldn't have pushed myself this weekend as i had backworkout, then vball tournament then pickup basketball... paying for it now i guess. anyway i could speed the recovery? when i turn my neck down and to the right i feel the pain in my upper neck/back area. hopefully it get's better by friday as i have a league bball game.
i'm thinking just rest, light stretching and 'warm' bath? if that doesn't do it then i guess aspirin is the answer on friday

astrolad is referring to Active Release Therapy.
You can find Massage Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Athletic Therapists who have the training. It's just another technique we use.
Sounds like stained (overworked) soft tissue. Rest and stretching is the key over the next 48-72 hours. You should be okay for your game on Friday.
Your own body will be the major factor in healing. We can speed up the recovery process and guide the body through the proper pacing and stages of recovery, but when you get there is, for the majority, dependent on genetics and your general health._______________

Find a registered massage therapist. I always find the ones who work at university rec centers to have competitive pricing along with very good service. Rest and relax...

sleepyguy, probably best to get someone to either give you a DDT or an Austin Power "Karate Chop" to the neck!
ORRR...........you can find a Lucy Liu masseuse and get her to footpalm your face and then twist (like in Charlie's Angels)!!!
Bet you feel much better........

Ever tried something like those icy/hot patches shaq endorses?
I tried a patch that just heats up. It made me feel much better. Not just for your back either._______________
