Good stuff on the list.
Hotel Rwanda, Amelie, Life is Beautiful, The Pianist, City of God, Bend it Like Beckham, Run Lola Run, any Hayao Miyazaki anime ... the HK films listed by lots of people already.
I was also really drawn in by the documentary Children Underground
