- Baffle Box construction
- Fitted
- Some kind of pad (batting) on top of the feathers
- Feathers should be body feather not flight feathers
- Should have the support of the Down and Feather association (www.downmark.com)

has anyone ever tried buying them from ebay? I was looking around and looks like i can buy them from costco, sears, pottery barn or ebay. This one in particular.

You can also buy them from,- The Bay
- Sears
- Quilts Etc --> Yes, I once worked for them
The ebay listing doesn't provide you with enough information to make an informed choice. Furthermore, you want to know if something has the down mark and or where it was manufactured, because then you know at least some kind of sanitation procedure has been followed. Remember feathers come from species of waterfowl, thus if the feather are not washed properly...shudders. Without batting on top I can guarantee you will feel the feathers poking at you, unless you have super duper thick sheets. On that note I do not recommend using polyester or blend sheets on featherbeds; only cotton, which will allow the feather to breathe preventing an accelerated breakdown of the feathers.
