Females have been rocking them since the late 80s and a lot since the mid 90s. This style has been around for a long time and is now seeing a resurgence. Agree with Dumbledore - some women pull it off really well!
Where did they buy them from? I saw everyone wearing Dr. Martens around here at that time. Maybe Timberland is more east coast style.

My tween is asking for these :) I remember (female and male) friends wearing Timberlands in the 80s/early 90s. I definitely don't see these as gendered.

That's true Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes That's why I said 'how'. Not everyone has the style, confidence or the looks to pulls off their own unique style. Most people should stick to more conservative looks if they're unsure if they'll able to "balance" their style and attire.

I did think it was dumb that that guy named himself Timbaland.

Not uncommon. I still remember many at my university wearing boots - be it timberland or Doc Martens. Ok that was during grunge.

False! LOL. Besides he spells his name Timbaland, not Timberland.

Timothy Zedd "Tim" Mosley (born March 10, 1972),[1] known professionally as Timbaland

Timberland the shoe company has been around 99yrs. Like I said it took off in the early 90's with rappers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Timberland_Company

* As Timberland expanded their inventory, popularity increased. Sales tripled as professional rappers such as DMX, and Mobb Deep, began wearing the brand. [7]

This is what comes to MY mind and I love it. Not every-single-day of their lives, but once in a while is kinda nice.
