Fibe 25, TV & Home Phone = $50+tax
Hi everyone,
Bell Re-seller(?) came by my house today and she is offering a package.
It sounds pretty good deal
Internet(Fibe 25) + Home phone(Basic) + Bell TV(Basic = $ 50.00 No Contract
If I watch TV, I will lose 3-4 meg of internet.
My Current bill
Internet
Acanac 15 Meg 3 line MLPPP - $ 74.95 / month (unlimited)
Bell Fiber 25 - $ 2.30 / month (75 GB CAP)
Phone
bell home line /w Canada & US (unlimited) = $ 44.95
NO TV
My wife uses over 2000 min. on long distance calls to US.
I tried many different VoIP lines so far I couldn't find GOOD QUALITY VoIP line.
Also, my bell fiber will expire on end of march.
For CAN&US long distance I have to add $31+$5(CID & CALL waiting)
Total comes to $50+31+5=$ 89 + tax
Should I take the deal ?

Wow, all those services for $50/month seems like a good deal. Even though there is no contract, how long will the pricing be in effect? I had no idea Bell reps went door-to-door.

There's been a shift in trend, it's now Rogers sales reps who are more likely to get a cat tossed in their face when knocking on a random door. I guess Bell reps now feel safe enough to come out from their hiding spots under the bridge.

wow. Bell must be getting pretty desperate when they have to start knocking on doors to find customers. I would be calling Bell to make sure this is legitimate before you sign on the dotted line.

Yes but the reseller for Bell would still have to have Bells permission to go door to door like this and peddle their service.

I just signed up for a similar deal. It's the same thing but I'm getting Fibe 16. $51.88/month + tax with no contract. Free modem rental, free HD DVR rental. It's for one year.
Didn't have home phone before but it's still cheaper than the TekSavvy/ExpressVu combination that I've been going with. Just sucks that I'm going down to 65GB/month from 300.
I'll just go back to TekSavvy when the promo is up.

Bell don't offer Fibe25 with FibeTV, only Fibe16. I think but can be wrong that the reason is, since TV will use up some bandwidth, if you get Fibe25, then you will never get 25. THey actually give you Fibe25, but your bandwidth will be reduced to 16 with the TV. All in all, that's an awesome deal!

Thats correct. Each TV uses 7-8Mbps per unique channel (ie two TVs on the same channel only uses 7-8Mbps). Bell will give you a 25/7 profile, but tells you to only expect 16/7 due to the TV.

They have so much overhead in the lines though.
I just had Fibe 25 installed here in Kitchener, where we don't have FibeTV yet. The Bell tech guy was pretty young and we got chatting about FibeTV coming to KW. He said it should be here later this year. I used his laptop and line diagnostic software to do a line test and it came back with ~80mbps down and 25mbps up (the green box is right outside my house).

Only happens for those who have a DSLAM within ~500m, which is a small percentage of people. To receive Fibe TV you have to be within 800m of a DSLAM.
