Since when, been browsing the Rogers retention thread and they ain't giving the 17.50 plan anymore, and considering this is an IN MARKET plan, you don't have to call in and beg this is pretty good.

My 17.50 plan does not have unlimited sms have to pay an extra 10 bucks for that and no call display that's extra aswell. Im thinking of switching, they offered me a ten dollar discount if I sign for 2 years with a 12.50 cancelation if I break the contract. If I can get the 10 discount on the 25 dollar plan that would be good. Will call Monday and see.

The $17.50 plan is a really old plan, and is no longer available. Plus it's only 200 minutes plus unlimited after 5, plus 100 canada-only SMS if you asked for it. The benefit though is that it's billed by the second, so it's more like 260 minutes. I had this, then added the $12 Value Pack recently, to get Visual Voicemail, Caller ID, and Canada wide calling. So, for voice, it came out to $29.50, but with only 100 Canadian texts, no international texts, and no MMS. Basically the only benefit was the extra minutes.

On top of this I had the $30 6 GB data plan. Total $59.50.

However, I gave up that plan to get the $56 unlimited everything Smart plan, plus 2 GB data (which is sufficient for me, and overages are only $10 per GB anyway).

if i switch to fido, will i get anything extra on top of $25 plan (for eg. $25 gift card or credit for switching over)?

1) You don't get anything extra on top of the $25 plan,
2) The phone is yours once u signed the agreement, however you owe fido penalty if you decide to leave fido early.
for example if you leave in your 1 year mark, you will need to pay:

$300 / 24 month = $12.5 per month * 12 month left in contract = $150 + $12.5 service charge
= $162.50 + tax

3) you can port your mobilicity number to fido for free if that's your question
